Africa-Press – Tanzania. Derby between the defending champions Young Africans and Simba will be staged on October 23rd this year, ten weeks after they meet in the Community Shield game on August 13th at Benjamin Mkapa in Dar es Salaam.
Both derbies will be staged at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam. The 2022/23 Premier League fixture released by the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Almasi Kasongo showed the two teams will meet on October 23rd in Dar es Salaam in a derby to be hosted by Yanga.
“The Tanzania Mainland Premier League 2022/2023 fixture is now out and the Premier League will officially start its kick off on August 15th this year and climax on June 10th , 2023,” Kasingo said.
Adding, he said the Premier League will have 240 matches in its 30-round campaign and will have 17 breaks.
The league’s opening matches will see the defending champions start away at Sheikh AmrI Abeid Stadium to face hosts Polisi Tanzania, while Ihefu will host Ruvu Shooting in Mbarali as Dodoma Jiji will host Mbeya City at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma.
On the same day, Namungo will be at home to entertain Mtibwa Sugar as the newly promoted Singida Big stars will play against Tanzania Prisons.
Simba will lock horns with Geita Gold at Mkapa stadium in Dar es salaam while Azam will be locking horns with Kagera Sugar at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.
According to the fixture, Ihefu will play their second league game at Highland Estate Stadium in Mbarali against Namungo. The second game for Polisi Tanzania will be against KMC as Coastal Union will be at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga to host Yanga while at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Simba will welcome Kagera Sugar.
The fixture goes with a match between Dodoma Jiji and Tanzania Prison, Mtibwa Sugar vs Ruvu Shooting as Singida Big Stars will be at home to host Mbeya City before Azam taking on Geita Gold at Azam Complex.
The league’s curtain will be brought down on May 27th in 2023, with a match between Mtibwa Sugar and Geita Gold, Ihefu will play against Kagera Sugar, Namungo against Singida Big stars as Ruvu Shooting will be locking horns with Dodoma Jiji, Simba vs Coastal Union and Azam Against Polisi Tanzania.
Other games during the league’s climax will be between Tanzania Prisons and KMC at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya, then Mbeya City will host Yanga at the same venue while Mtibwa Sugar are pitted against Kagera Sugar at Manungu Complex in Morogoro.
Also to be played in the league’s 30th match is Ihefu who will host Geita Gold, Singida Big Stars against Ruvu Shooting while Simba will face Polisi Tanzania.
