Africa-Press – Tanzania. CCM parliamentary candidate for Kilosa constituency, Prof Palamagamba Kabudi, has described the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, as a visionary, courageous and transformative leader capable of improving the lives of Tanzanians in practical ways.
Speaking at a campaign rally yesterday at Tumbaku grounds in Morogoro municipality, Prof Kabudi praised Dr Samia as a steadfast leader who stands firmly by her convictions and implements them with determination.
“You are a leader with true courage in great matters without flinching. You are steadfast, unshakable and undaunted. Even to those who do not wish you well, God has given you a heart of patience. You are a person of integrity in what you believe and have stood firm to implement it,” he said.
He added: “The greatest lesson I have learned from your leadership is that the Almighty God has blessed you with a heart full of humanity. This is no surprise, as our manifesto and humanity are guiding principles. Compassion and humanity go hand in hand.”
Prof Kabudi highlighted Morogoro’s historical support for the CCM presidential candidate, urging residents to maintain the record.
“In the last election, of all the regions, Morogoro gave the CCM presidential candidate the highest number of votes That record must remain. On October 29, let us vote for Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan and all CCM candidates to continue upholding our region’s honour,” he said.
He praised the successful implementation of the CCM manifesto in the region, pointing to major projects such as the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project (JNHPP), which has positioned Morogoro among the leading regions in electricity generation.
“This is a strategic region, powering the nation through Kidatu, Kihansi and the Nyerere Dam. You inherited the project at 30 per cent completion and oversaw its major progress. This is not an ordinary project,” he said.
He explained that the dam was designed for three main purposes: controlling floods in the Rufiji River Basin, generating electricity and supporting agriculture, and now it has opened new opportunities for tourism.
“You have successfully completed this project with all the blessings of our Founding Father, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere. He wanted it finished, and you delivered,” he said.
Prof Kabudi also hailed Dr Samia for reviving the long-delayed Kidunda Dam project.
He noted that the region, particularly Kilosa District, has benefited from the CCM manifesto, citing development through the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
“This district has the largest number of SGR stations in the country. From Mpata, Kilosa, to Kidete, these stations have unlocked huge opportunities for tourism and trade,” he said.
In his constituency, Prof Kabudi said residents have witnessed transformations across sectors, driven by infrastructure projects that have positively impacted daily life.
“Electricity has reached all villages, directly touching the lives of citizens,” he added.
He also praised Dr Samia for championing clean energy and strengthening health services in the region.
Prof Kabudi said that under the CCM 2025–2030 manifesto, major sectoral transformations are expected, especially in health, including universal health insurance and free screening for chronic diseases such as cancer.
