Mali’s qualification came after a goalless draw against Comoros today, Monday, in the third round of group stage matches in the continental tournament.
The match saw the expulsion of Mali’s player Amadou Aidara in the 88th minute.
Mali raised its points total to three after a series of notable draws, positioning itself in second place in Group A.
Meanwhile, Comoros finished in third place with two points.
Despite a wealth of scoring opportunities for both sides, neither team was able to find the back of the net, resulting in a scoreless draw.
