Africa-Press. The United States has engaged in new diplomatic efforts aimed at launching a comprehensive political process in Libya, as part of accelerating international moves to revive the stalled political track and end the institutional division that has persisted for years.

Diplomatic sources reported that a senior advisor to the U.S. president held a meeting with the Middle East and North Africa official from the French Foreign Ministry, focusing on coordinating Western efforts to support an inclusive political path led by Libyans themselves with a purely national vision, ensuring the end of division and the unification of Libya’s independent sovereign institutions.

The discussions emphasized the necessity of joint action between Washington and Paris to support the UN-approved roadmap established by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, considering it the reference framework for political settlement, while pushing for national consensus that paves the way for postponed electoral entitlements.

These moves come amid intensified international and regional efforts aimed at rebuilding a common political ground among active Libyan parties, amidst ongoing attempts to bridge viewpoints and prepare a stable political environment that opens the way for a comprehensive solution to the Libyan crisis.
