Burkina Faso opened the scoring following a quick attack in the 16th minute, ending with a cross from Stéphane Aziz Ki to Lassina Traoré, who headed the ball into the net.
The referee awarded a penalty to Sudan in the 23rd minute for a foul on Al-Jazouli Noah, who stepped up to take the kick but shot the ball wide of the post.

Sudan nearly equalized in the 56th minute when Noah delivered a cross into the penalty area to Amer Abdullah, who shot powerfully, but the ball went just past the post.
However, Burkina Faso extended their lead with a second goal in the 85th minute, scored by Arsen Kouassi, who dribbled past the defense upon entering the penalty area and accurately shot the ball into the narrow angle of the goal.
Burkina Faso raised their points total to 6, placing them second, while Sudan remained at 3 points in third place.
Burkina Faso will face Ivory Coast in the Round of 16, while Sudan will meet Senegal in the same round.
