This victory guarantees Nigeria’s advancement to the knockout stage, while Uganda finishes last in the group with only one point.

Paul Onuachu scored the first goal for Nigeria in the 28th minute, followed by Rafael Onyedika, who added two more goals in the 63rd and 67th minutes, confirming the dominance of the “Super Eagles” in the match.

Uganda’s only goal came from Rogers Mato in the 75th minute, but it did not change the outcome of the game.

With this victory, Nigeria increased its points to 9, achieving a perfect record and securing the top spot in Group C after previously ensuring qualification for the knockout stage.

In contrast, Uganda’s tally remains at one point, placing them fourth and last in the group, leading to their exit from the competition.

The match also saw a red card for Uganda’s goalkeeper Jamal Salim in the 57th minute, further complicating his team’s challenge against Nigeria.

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is the main international football competition in Africa, organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Established in 1957, it has grown to include 24 teams competing for the title every two years. The tournament showcases the continent’s top football talent and serves as a platform for nations to gain international recognition.
