During a press conference, the Kenyan general emphasized that his visit aims to “confirm and deepen the friendship and ongoing cooperation between the two countries and their armed forces.”

He noted that defense relations between Nairobi and Kigali date back to the rebuilding of the Rwandan army following the genocide in 1994. General Kahariri added that “this visit comes to extend our friendship and explore new ways to enhance our partnership.”

He stated that both nations share much in areas such as training, peace, and regional stability, as well as exchanging experiences. He also praised the spirit of cooperation and expressed his country’s eagerness to finalize the defense cooperation agreement, which is reportedly in its final stages.
